LGNYY also asked Wallace Sampson OBE to seek a clear view from the Commission concerning whether these were three-yearly appointments or whether York and North Yorkshire could review its representation on an annual basis.
LGNYY/2021-07-02/ Nominations to Outside Bodies/3
Wallace Sampson OBE has advised that he has now had chance to speak to the Commission about the term of nomination and has been informed that this can be determined by LGNYY and nominations can be either annually or for a three year term. With regard to substitutes, there is the expectation that, as the meetings only take place four times a year, the nominated person will attend and a substitute used only in exceptional circumstances.
The view of LGNYY is sought on whether the term of nomination of York and North Yorkshire’s Vice-Chair of the Climate Commission should be annual or for a three year term.
